Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Kettle is built around memory, screenshots, debriefs, and AI replies. That means privacy is not a decorative checkbox for us. It is the whole product trust story.
1. Who We Are
Kettle is operated by Devon Allary. You can contact us at devonallary@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, information created while you use Kettle, and limited technical data.
Account information
- Sign in with Apple identifiers.
- Email address and display name, if Apple provides them or you choose to share them.
- Authentication session information needed to keep you signed in.
Chat, memory, and lore information
- Messages you send to Kettle and messages Kettle sends back.
- Screenshots and other message attachments you choose to upload.
- AI-generated readings of screenshots, including visible text, summaries, interpretations, and uncertainty notes.
- Lore and memory items created from conversations or imports, such as people, relationships, preferences, interests, places, events, goals, episodes, and storylines.
- Reactions, settings, personality choices, notification preferences, and app appearance choices.
Imports
If you import or paste a chat archive or memory dump, we process the content you provide so Kettle can identify possible people, plotlines, preferences, and other lore for your review.
Subscription and usage information
- StoreKit transaction identifiers, product identifiers, subscription status, renewal state, and App Store server notification data.
- Usage counters, model token counts, estimated model cost, quota state, and related operational logs.
Device and technical information
- Device tokens and notification authorization state if you enable notifications.
- Approximate technical metadata such as app version, timestamps, IP address, request logs, and diagnostics.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate Kettle and deliver chat, memory, screenshot, import, notification, and subscription features.
- To personalize replies based on your settings, lore, and recent conversation context.
- To classify, summarize, and reconcile memories and storylines you choose to share.
- To process screenshots and attachments as part of normal chat.
- To manage usage limits, prevent abuse, debug errors, secure the service, and improve reliability.
- To send notifications or check-ins if you enable them.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. AI Processing
Kettle uses AI models and related infrastructure to generate replies, analyze screenshots, classify memories, and manage conversation context. To do that, we may send relevant portions of your messages, screenshots, imports, settings, and lore to AI service providers such as Google Gemini and OpenAI.
We do not sell your conversations. We do not use your private Kettle chats to build a public social profile. We use AI providers as processors for the product features you request. Their systems may process your data according to their API and cloud service terms.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to run Kettle, comply with law, or protect the service. This may include:
- Cloud hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, logging, and security providers.
- AI model providers used to generate replies, analyze screenshots, and classify memories.
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, App Store subscription status, and payment-related events.
- Service providers helping us operate, debug, or secure Kettle.
- Authorities or other parties if required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the service.
- A successor entity if Kettle is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.
6. Your Choices and Controls
- You can choose what to tell Kettle and what screenshots or imports to upload.
- You can edit settings and notification preferences in the app.
- You can ask Kettle to forget or delete individual lore items where the app provides that control.
- You can request access, correction, deletion, or account support by emailing us.
- You can manage Apple subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
- You can disable notifications in the app or in your device settings.
7. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Kettle, maintain your account and lore, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Chat history, memory, lore, and screenshots may remain until you delete them, request deletion, or close your account, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, safety, billing, fraud-prevention, or security reasons.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not use Kettle for emergency help or for information that you are not comfortable storing in an online service.
9. Children
Kettle is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. International Transfers
Kettle and our service providers may process information in the United States, Canada, and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws different from where you live.
11. Region-Specific Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, or to receive a portable copy. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact us to make a request.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Kettle changes. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the date above or providing an in-app notice.
