Terms of Service
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Kettle is a nosy AI bestie with receipts. She can be useful, funny, wrong, dramatic, helpful, and occasionally too pleased with herself. Please treat AI output like a friend texting you, not a court order from the universe.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of Kettle, including the mobile app, web app, website, AI features, memory/lore features, screenshots, imports, notifications, and related services. By using Kettle, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Kettle is operated by Devon Allary. Contact us at devonallary@gmail.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kettle. If the law where you live requires a higher age to use an online or AI service, you must meet that higher age. If you use Kettle on behalf of someone else, you represent that you have authority to do so.
3. What Kettle Is
Kettle is an AI companion and chat product. It can generate replies, analyze screenshots, summarize imports, maintain user-approved memory/lore, suggest conversation framing, and send notifications or check-ins when enabled.
Kettle is not a human, therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, emergency service, crisis line, or substitute for professional judgment. It is allowed to have fake attitude, not fake credentials.
4. AI Output
- AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or inappropriate for your situation.
- You are responsible for evaluating output before relying on it or sending it to anyone else.
- Do not use Kettle for emergency situations, medical diagnosis, legal decisions, financial decisions, or safety-critical advice.
- Kettle may refuse, ignore, summarize, or ask for clarification if a request is unsafe, too large, off-purpose, or outside the product's intended use.
5. Your Content
You keep ownership of messages, screenshots, imports, settings, and other content you provide to Kettle. You give us a limited license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, analyze, display, and create derived summaries or memory/lore items from your content as needed to operate and improve Kettle, enforce these Terms, and comply with law.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload or share your content with Kettle. If you upload screenshots or messages involving other people, you are responsible for doing so lawfully and respectfully.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Kettle to:
- Violate law or another person's rights.
- Upload illegal, exploitative, or non-consensual intimate content.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate, or dox another person.
- Generate spam, scams, malware, or deceptive content.
- Seek instructions for self-harm, violence, illegal conduct, or bypassing safety systems.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or attack Kettle or its infrastructure.
- Use Kettle to make high-stakes decisions without qualified professional review.
7. Memory, Lore, and Deletion
Kettle's memory features are designed to make the product feel more coherent and personal. You can request that certain lore, memory, people, places, episodes, or storylines be deleted or forgotten where the app provides those controls. Some deletion requests may take time to propagate through backups, logs, or related operational systems, and we may retain limited information where required for legal, safety, billing, fraud-prevention, or security reasons.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
Kettle may offer paid features such as Kettle Plus. In-app purchases made through Apple are processed by Apple, not directly by Kettle. Apple will show the price, renewal period, and purchase terms before charging you.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions renew until canceled.
- You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
- Refund requests for Apple purchases are generally handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
- Kettle may use subscription status, transaction identifiers, and App Store server notifications to provide or revoke paid access.
9. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Kettle may send check-ins, reminders, app status updates, or other messages. You can change notification settings in the app or your device settings. Notifications are not guaranteed to be delivered and should not be used for emergencies.
10. Third-Party Services
Kettle relies on third-party services for hosting, databases, storage, authentication, payments, notifications, AI models, and related infrastructure. Your use of Kettle may also be subject to third-party terms, including Apple's App Store terms and policies.
11. Intellectual Property
Kettle, including its name, branding, software, design, prompts, product structure, and non-user content, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of Kettle. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of Kettle except as allowed by law or with written permission.
12. Feedback
If you send feedback, ideas, screenshots of bugs, feature requests, or dramatic manifestos about what Kettle should become, you allow us to use that feedback without obligation to compensate you.
13. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Kettle if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users or the service, or if we need to comply with law. You may stop using Kettle at any time.
14. Disclaimers
Kettle is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, availability, and that Kettle will meet your expectations or be error-free.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or service interruption. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to Kettle will not exceed the amount you paid to Kettle in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.
16. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kettle and its operator from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your content, your use of Kettle, or your violation of these Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Kettle is operated, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise. This section should be reviewed and finalized before public launch.
18. Changes
We may update these Terms as Kettle changes. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the date above or providing an in-app notice. Continued use of Kettle after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
